Young Scientists (STEM)
Mondays @ 9am - 10:30am
Ages 8-12/Grades 3-5
This fun class is all about enjoying the process of learning. Students will build skills in scientific thinking thru the stories of scientists throughout history. Each week the students will have a hands-on project to relate and reinforce the science that those scientists discovered. This will be chance to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) as they learn and demonstrate the wonders in the world around us. This class does align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for elementary students. The class covers many topics from Biology, Aerodynamics, Electricity, Building Design, the Scientific Method, the Design Process, and many more. If you have a curious student and want them to learn to love STEM, this is the class for them!
Students of all abilities in math and science will have fun, working in small groups with other students. We want to inspire students to love math and science and to see where it is in the real world and in their own lives. Fun and positive experiences are the keys in this class!
